
We're Hiring: Community & Events Manager
O₂ Utah seeks a Community & Events Manager to begin work immediately. This position is responsible for introducing O₂ Utah to concerned Utahns, friendly businesses, and partner organizations, and rallying them to help us accomplish our goals of cleaning the air and acting on climate.
This position will put you on the front line of fighting to improve our air quality and making a difference on climate change. The Community & Events Manager works across the Wasatch Front through grassroots efforts and events to increase voter turnout and pass meaningful policy.
In addition to impactful work, the Community & Events Manager will join a small, passionate team with a start-up mindset. We offer flexible work hours, generous vacation, a health-care stipend, and retirement contributions. This role works in our downtown Salt Lake City office.
ABOUT O₂ UTAH:
O₂ Utah is a bi-partisan 501(c)(4) environmental nonprofit founded in 2019. Our mission is to clean our state’s air and eliminate our contributions to climate change through elections and policy. We focus on state legislative and municipal races in Utah’s urban core and provide policy to tackle environmental problems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Cultivate and manage relationships with activists, businesses, and organizations

Organize and oversee O₂ Utah events, and participate at partner events, to spread awareness and recruit donors and activists

Table at partner events and prime locations to introduce O₂ Utah to community members

Use direct outreach methods such as phone calls, text messages, emails, and in-person meetings to engage the public

Participate in our electoral efforts through canvassing, door-knocking, outreach, and volunteer engagement

Willingness to work nights and weekends as needed to engage the community at optimal times

Manage interns and volunteers
QUALIFICATIONS:

Two years of grassroots organizing, campaign organizing, or event management experience

Excellent time management, verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently

Willingness to learn and think outside the box

An attitude of “no one is too big for the job.” At O₂ Utah, everyone does the necessary work to make change, including to elect candidates in both primary and general elections by making calls to voters and knocking doors, among other tasks.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience but starting at $41,000.
