We're Hiring: Voting Organizer
O₂ Utah seeks two part-time (15 hours per week) Voting Organizers to work from June 26 through November 21. This position will be responsible for voter registration and door-to-door canvassing efforts in West Jordan. The purpose of this position is to increase participation from environmentally conscious residents to help advance clean air, climate action, and protect public lands.
Many voters care deeply about addressing climate change, cleaning our air, and protecting public lands. However, they do not see the connection between voting and making a difference on those issues. This position is intended to change that through the use of techniques proven to improve voter turnout. This will mean largely having face-to-face conversations with residents through setting up voter registration tables, door-to-door canvassing, texting, calling, and mail.
Although these techniques have been proven in many different locations, this is a novel program for Utah. You will be trailblazing an effort to make the environment matter to policymakers when they care the most: during elections.
O₂ Utah will train you in campaign strategy, messaging, and voter contact techniques. This is a 1099 contract position.
